In April, Specialist Search Dogs made the difficult decision to postpone the search until new evidence or credible information becomes available. This followed extensive search activity in challenging terrain. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we began reviewing the operation to identify lessons learned and areas where we can strengthen future effectiveness. We remain in ongoing contact with family and the local Police.
Operationally, members of the charity were deployed to Staines (London) to assist in the search for missing person. During a reservoir search, our dogs gave a positive indication which was later confirmed to be accurate—highlighting the skill, discipline, and reliability of our canine teams. A heartfelt thank you to all members involved.
We also continued developing specialist skills, with several members travelling to the Highlands of Scotland for advanced tracking training led by our lead tracking trainer Sally Smith, with guest instructor Alis Dobler (Switzerland).
