As we closed out 2024, Specialist Search Dogs remained operationally active, with our teams deployed twice in England during December to support ongoing search activity when requested.
Looking back over the year, 2024 included significant development across the charity: core SAR training and multiple searches early in the year, Level 3 canine first aid, Water Search and Rescue Technician training, and the introduction of AquaEye sonar training to strengthen our water capability. We also progressed wider skills through UKLSI training and Lowland Search Technician certification, attended the Missing People Conference in Portsmouth, and continued major training weekends including Ennerdale boat-and-dog exercises and specialist development in Scotland.
A sincere thank you to everyone who donated, supported events, and backed our volunteers—your generosity helps fund training, equipment, and readiness. From all of us at Specialist Search Dogs, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy New Year.
