In January, we were supported by a fantastic fundraising effort led by one of our Therapy Dog handlers, who completed a 20-mile walk to raise vital funds for Specialist Search Dogs. The support raised through initiatives like this helps us maintain equipment, deliver training, and remain ready to deploy when communities need us most.
We also confirmed a new cooperation link through Central K-9 SAR Search Dogs in their work with the Scottish Ambulance Service. Under this arrangement, Therapy Dogs from Specialist Search Dogs may be deployed (when requested) to provide support to ambulance staff following difficult or traumatic incidents. Our therapy dog teams are trained to operate in sensitive environments, offering calm, structured interaction that can help reduce stress and support emotional wellbeing after challenging callouts.
